Santa Catalina Island, California
Escape with your sweetheart to this romantic island for Valentine's Day...or any day. Author Mindy N. Steinman takes you to romantic B&B's, quiet places to enjoy a candlelight dinner, and other activities for two. You can explore the island on horseback, by bicycle, underwater with scuba gear or a snorkel, and even in a submarine! Although just a short distance off the California coast, you'll find Catalina Island is a world away.

Soak in the magical healing waters long revered by the Shoshone Indians. The World's Largest Mineral Hot Springs are just down the hill from the Thermopolis Municipal Airport, but are not the only attraction here. You can also visit the renowned Dinosaur Museum and even golf at the nine-hole golf course adjacent to the airport.
Albany, Oregon
Make sure to include Albany on your next flight through the Willamette Valley. Walk just a few steps from your tiedown to Lum Yuen Restaurant. Dine on Chinese cuisine while enjoying the view of aircraft landing on Runway 34. If you're too tired to fly home, two hotels are also just a short walk away.
Tuweep, Arizona
A little-known dirt strip at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon is perfect for camping and stunning views. Clair Roberts, the friendly park ranger who is also a pilot, will likely make you feel at home. Remember to bring your own food, water, and other supplies to enjoy the solitude and beauty of the North Rim.
